A state trooper was accused of trying to pay for sex from someone he believed was a teen girl and asking for sexual pictures, authorities said. Shane Dempsey, 31, of Brick Township, was arrested in Ewing on Monday, July 1, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release. A 60-year-old man from Ewing went missing on Thursday, June 20, authorities said. Stanley Matthews, age 60, was last seen at 6:30 a.m., leaving his residence on West Upper Ferry Road for his morning walk, Ewing police said. Stanley has not been seen since and his cell phone is off or inoperable. Stanley was last seen wearing a blue jacket and black sweatpants and is approximately 5' 10" tall. Mom Dies Days After Being Stabbed By Son In New Jersey
A 61-year-old woman from Ewing died Thursday, May 23, two days after being stabbed by her son, authorities said. Maggie McNeil was found covered in blood after being stabbed by her son Theodore N. McNeil, 36, of Trenton, on Tuesday, May 21, around 5:10 p.m., at a home on Pennington Road, Ewing police said at the time. A Mercer County man was accused of selling heroin and cocaine in Atlantic City, authorities said. Leroy Clark, 44, of Ewing, was arrested on Friday, Mar. 8, Atlantic City police said in a Wednesday, Mar. 13 news release. An officer saw Clark selling drugs to another man on the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue at around 4:45 p.m. Two other officers were able to arrest him, and investigators searched his vehicle and hotel room. Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Route 1 In Mercer County
There was a pedestrian struck and killed along Route 1 in Lawrence Township, authorities said. The fatal crash occurred at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14 on the 3300 block of Brunswick Pike (Route 1), police said. The 39-year-old driver from Ewing and passengers were not injured.
