Driver Killed In Route 49 Crash In South Jersey (Update) A 72-year-old driver from Florida was killed in a crash along Route 49 in Atlantic County, authorities said. Troopers responded to the crash at about 8 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, on Route 49 West at milepost 49 in Estell Manor, according to New Jersey State Police spokesman Sgt. Charles Marchan. Based on a preliminary investigation, Mark Jones of Cape Coral, FL, was driving a Ford Escape when it traveled off the road and struck a tree, Marchan said. The crash occurred at about 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11 on Route 50 near 11th Avenue and Grant Street in Estell Manor, the New Jersey Department of Transporation said.
