Sun Sets On Gillian's Wonderland Pier: Hundreds Show Up For One Last Ride
Gillian's Wonderland Pier shut down the rides one last time on Sunday, Oct. 13. Hundreds of people showed up this weekend to say goodbye to the Ocean City. amusement park as it closed after 94 years in business. In August, Mayor Jay Gillian, the park's owner, announced he'd be terminating the multi-year lease in the weeks to come. This was it. Fans of Six Flags Great Adventure will have to wait even longer to ride the Jackson Township amusement park's newest roller coaster. In a Facebook post on Monday, Aug. 12, the resort said the opening of THE FLASH: Vertical Velocity has been delayed until 2025. An Ocean City amusement park is shutting down after creating nearly a century of summer memories for children and families. Mayor Jay Gillian, the owner of Gillian's Wonderland Pier, said he'll terminate the multi-year lease for the theme park in a couple of months. Kingda Ka Rollercoaster Closes After Malfunction At Six Flags Great Adventure
Kingda Ka, the world’s tallest roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure, is closed after a malfunction (scroll for video of the ride).
