8K Wildwood Residents Still Without Power, Here's When It's Expected To Be Restored
Much of Wildwood remains in the dark.
A day after a fire at a Wildwood electrical plant, nearly 8,000 Wildwood residents still had no power on Saturday, July 8.
According to Atlantic City Electric, power had been restored to approximately16,200 customers, with a restoration time of 3 p.m. estimated for those still without as a result of the Lake Avenue substation fire on Friday, July 7.

A two-alarm fire at an electric plant substation in Wildwood knocked out power to 24,000 homes and businesses throughout the island on Friday, July 7, authorities said.

As of 5 p.m., power had been restored for 1,800 Atlantic City Electric customers. An additional 15,000 were expected to have power later this evening, while some will remain in the dark until Saturday, July 8, the company said.

An 18-year-old man from South Jersey has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing, authorities said.

Trio Arrested On Meth Charges In South Jersey
Three people have been arrested on various drug-related charges in Cape May County, authorities said.
James O’Conner, 33, of Wildwood; Sean Reinek, 48 and Gina McCaffery, 34, of Middle Township were arrested, they said.
The arrests followed an investigation of methamphetamine sales by O'Conner, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland said.
