Masked Robbers Hit Verizon Store In South Jersey: Police
A Verizon store in Evesham was hit by a pair of armed robbers, authorities said. On Wednesday, May 15, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Evesham police responded to 930 W. Route 70 for an armed robbery that had just occurred. One suspect brandished a firearm, police said. The store employee was not injured. The suspects were described as wearing masks, gloves, dark-colored pants, white sneakers and hooded sweatshirts. Jackknifed Tractor-Trailer Closes Route 40 In South Jersey
Route 40 was closed for more than two hours Monday after a tractor-trailer jackknifed, authorities said. The crash occurred at milepost 7.7 on Route 1 near Jill Road in Pilesgrove Township, Salem County, just before noon, according to a New Jersey State Police spokesman. The roadway was shut down for the removal of the tractor-trailer and reopened at about 2 p.m., State Police said. No injuries were reported. Verizon responded to work on damage to utility wires.
