Fugitive Killed Himself When US Marshals Showed Up At His House, Officials Say
A Pennsylvania man wanted by police on aggravated assault charges killed himself when the US Marshals Service showed up at his door, authorities said. The body of 27-year-old Del Harvey was found inside a home on East High Street in Pottstown around 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 11, Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Clark told Daily Voice. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, which authorities said they heard while trying to serve a search warrant on the home. Four children and their great aunt died, while their two parents were left critical in a home explosion that rocked Pottstown Thursday, May 27, authorities said. Wanted Suburban Philly Driver Leaving Crash Scene Had Loaded Gun, Meth: Police
A driver who crashed his car in Chester County with warrants out for his arrest was found with a loaded handgun and a plastic baggie full of meth, authorities said. Benjamin Lawrence Snyder, 31, was trying to flee the crash on Catfish Lane in North Coventry, when police arrived around 4 p.m. Jan. 13, local police said. Snyder was detained upon police arrival pending confirmation of an active warrant out of Bucks County.
