The mother of a 50-year-old woman who died days after she was found in a pool of urine with a cleaning wipe was lodged in her trachea, has filed a lawsuit against the Philadelphia home where her daughter lived for most of her life. The lawsuit alleging gross negligence filed by lawyers from Stark & Stark PC, and the Pepper Law Firm, LLC, indicates that a staff member at Merakey-Woodhaven placed the six-inch wipe in Cheryl Yewdall's throat. Dementia Patients Were Sexually Abused At PA Nursing Home And 2 Workers Failed To Act: AG
A pair of nursing home employees were arrested on accusations they failed to report a male resident who sexually assaulted three female dementia patients in a suburban Philadelphia facility, authorities said. The Landing of Southampton General Manager Ashley Harker and Director of Health and Wellness Joy Alfonsi were notified of the incidents in the facility's memory care unit by staff members on July 22, 24, and 26, PA Attorney General Josh Shapiro said. A Hepatitis A outbreak that left at least two dead and nine infected closed a suburban Philadelphia Italian restaurant, Fox29 reports.
