A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash on the Black Horse Pike Tuesday night, Feb. 18, Egg Harbor Township police said. Officers responded to the crash around 8 p.m. in front of the Economy Inn in the West Atlantic City section of the township, authorities said. The driver took off, and police are still working to identify both the pedestrian and the vehicle involved. The westbound lanes of the Black Horse Pike are shut down as the investigation continues. A southeastern Connecticut man died more than a week after he was hit by an SUV while crossing a busy Jersey Shore road, authorities said. Michael Losacano of Niantic, CT, died from his injuries on Monday, Nov. 18, the Wall Township Police Department said in a news release. The 64-year-old was injured in a crash on Saturday, Nov. 9. An elderly driver hit a pedestrian at an intersection in Longport, authorities said. The crash happened at the intersection of Atlantic and 27th avenues at around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, the Longport Police Department said in a news release. A pedestrian was struck and killed on Route 38 in Cherry Hill, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 11 p.m. on Friday, July 26, according to the New Jersey State Police fatal statistics web page. A 25-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in Cumberland County, authorities said. Vineland police responded to Fourth Street and Chestnut Avenue at about 10 p.m. on Monday, July 4. A 23-year-old pedestrian from Camden was critically injured when she was struck by a vehicle near Interstate 295 in South Jersey, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13 on Route 73 southbound at the top of the I-295 northbound ramp in Mount Laurel Township, initial reports said.
