Man Charged With Manslaughter After Victim Dies From Rock Injury In South Jersey: Prosecutor
A man who was struck by a rock during a fight has died, authorities said. The death meant charges were upgraded against Julio Morales-Amilcar, 24, of Bridgeton, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae. On Aug. 12, Bridgeton Police Officers were dispatched to a location on Myrtle Street for the report of an assault. Cumberland County Man Critical After Assault: Police
A 25-year-old man has been arrested for an assault that left the victim in critical condition in Cumberland County, authorities said. On Saturday, Aug. 12 at 11:36 p.m., Bridgeton police officers were dispatched to Myrtle Street for an assault. Police found an unconscious 35-year-old Bridgeton man being treated by Bridgeton Fire/EMS. A short time later ER Staff contacted police and advised that the victim was in critical condition with a serious head injury. A 34-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Cumberland County. Bridgeton police responded to North Pearl and Myrtle streets at about 8:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17. Leonardo Sanchez-Salas, of Bridgeton, was found lying in the southbound lane of North Pearl Street, according to Bridgeton police. He was taken to Inspira Medical Center Vineland, where he was pronounced dead. South Jersey Man Gets 20 Years State Prison In Shooting Death: Prosecutor
A 33-year-old man from Cumberland County was sentenced to 20 years in New Jersey state prison in connection with a shooting death, authorities said. Raheem Jacobs, of Bridgeton, was sentenced Friday, Aug. 5 in connection with the Aug. 11, 2015 homicide of Keon Butler, also of Bridgeton, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae. A Cumberland County jury previously returned a guilty verdict on May 26 for second-degree reckless manslaughter following a two-and-a-half-week trial.
