Erratic Jet Ski Operator Fled Marine Units At NJ Beach, Cops Say — Now They Want To Find Him A jet ski operator who jetted away from police when they stopped him on Memorial Day Weekend is now being sought by authorities, who are enlisting the public to help. New Jersey State Police Marine Units stopped the operator of an erratic blue Yamaha around 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 25 at the bathing beach in Lower Township in Cape May County, the department said. Lifeguards Recover Body Of Missing Jersey Shore Swimmer The body of a drowned swimmer was found off the Jersey Shore in Belmar after several others were rescued, authorities said. Belmar lifeguards and Water Rescue members rushed to the area off the 8th Avenue jetty around 12:30 p.m. Monday after beachgoers tried in vain to rescue a group of distressed swimmers, police said.
