Man, 23, Sentenced For Setting Fatal Fire In South Jersey A 23-year-old Burlington Township man was sentenced to 22 years in New Jersey State Prison for starting a fire that killed a man, authorities said. Newlin Evans IV, who was sentenced on Monday, June 5,  pleaded guilty in January to aggravated manslaughter for setting the fatal fire, according to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw. NJ Judge Inappropriately Touched Clerk After Sharing Drinks At His Beach House, Complaint Says A municipal judge from Mercer County is accused of violating judicial conduct after a law clerk says he touched her thigh inappropriately, according to a complaint filed by a state advisory committee. Filed Monday, April 10, the complaint says Judge R. Douglas Hoffman “demeaned the judicial office" in drinking alcohol with a subordinate employee and touching her without her consent. Hoffman has 20 days to respond.
