Employee Details Hostage Situation In South Jersey ShopRite A ShopRite employee has detailed the situation the brought a major police presence to a New Jersey ShopRite on Saturday night, Oct. 12. A Lawnside ShopRite employee said a couple was arguing loudly around 6:50 p.m. The man was holding a knife to his female partner's stomach, the employee said. Multiple agencies arrived around 7 p.m. One agency brought K9 units, which the employee said helped apprehend the man, who came out on a stretcher, the employee said. Barrington police said only that one person was arrested.

One Hospitalized In Early-Morning 3-Car Crash In Camden County, Firefighters Say One person was hospitalized in an early-morning crash in Camden County Wednesday, Sept. 25, firefighters said. The Lawnside Fire Department responded to the crash, along with Magnolia Fire Co. Squad 29, at approximately 5 a.m., the LFD said on Facebook.  Photos show that the crash happened along Route 30, outside of the Lawnside Commons on Route 30 and involved a pickup truck and two other vehicles. One patient was transported to the hospital by Magnolia Ambulance Corps, according to the LFD. All lanes had reopened as of 8:30 a.m.

Motorcyclist, 45, Killed In Camden County Crash A 45-year-old motorcyclist from Camden County was killed in a crash Sunday, June 2, in Gloucester City, authorities said. Christopher R. Chester, of Lawnside, was on the exit 1B ramp from Interstate 76 south to Interstate 295 north at 9:45 a.m. when he lost control of his Suzuki motorcycle, struck a guardrail and was thrown from the Suzuki, New Jersey State Police said. Chester was pronounced dead at the scene.

Camden County Man Charged In Fatal Shooting A Cherry Hill man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old woman on Saturday, Feb. 25, authorities said. Kyle Foggy, 29, was charged with murder and weapons offenses, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay alongside Lawnside Police Captain William Plenty. At 4:07 a.m. on Feb. 25, Lawnside police and EMS responded to the 100 block of Mouldy Road in Lawnside, where they found a woman who had been shot.  The victim was identified as 28-year-old Michelle Cruz of Lawnside, MacAulay said.
