Man Killed In Shooting At Jersey Shore Train Station, Prosecutors Say
A man was shot and killed at the New Jersey Transit station in Long Branch, authorities said. Long Branch police responded to the train station's platform at around 7:39 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, a Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesperson said. Officers found the unidentified man and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead at 8:34 p.m. Investigators haven't said what led up to the shooting. Atlantic City leaders responded to criticism and called for community support after four homicides in the city during the first week of 2024. Eight Killed Across Philadelphia In 48 Hours: Police
Eight people were killed in eight separate shootings across Philadelphia over the weekend, city police told Daily Voice. The string of murders began just after midnight on Saturday, Sept. 16, and continued through to early Monday morning, Sept. 18 according to the department. Officers were called to the 7300 block of North 19th Street around 12:15 a.m. Saturday to find 26-year-old Andre Moore with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, authorities said. UPDATE: A man who was shot and killed in Jersey City by members of a specialized law enforcement team that hunts fugitives was wanted for shooting and killing his 67-year-old next-door neighbor and wounding her husband a day earlier in Florida, authorities said. A reputed leader of the Bloods street gang was shot and killed in Trenton, authorities said. The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton police are investigating the fatal shooting on Friday, May 26, police said. Sharief Treadwell, 36, a self-described ‘four-star general” of the Trenton Gangsta Killa Bloods sect, died after being shot near Oakland and Hoffman streets, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. Escaped Philadelphia Inmates Were Being Held On Homicide, Weapons Offenses
A manhunt was under way Tuesday, May 9 for a pair of inmates who escaped a Philadelphia correction center. Police say Nasir Grant, 24, and Ameen Hurst, 18, escaped the facility on State Road sometime Sunday, May 7. The two apparently cut a hole in a fence in the recreation yard and made their great escape. “Clearly the system screwed up and people didn’t do what they were supposed to do,” said Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney at a news conference Monday evening. Hurst has been tied to homicides dating back to 2020 while Grant was being held on drug and weapons charges since last September.

Camden Dad Killed In Shooting
A 37-year-old dad was killed in a Camden shooting over the weekend, authorities said. Charles Copling, III was found with gunshot wounds just before midnight on the 1200 block of Decatur Street Friday, June 17, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay said.
