The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the arrival of mysterious tar balls on beaches from Sea Bright south to Asbury Park. Fatal Pedestrian Crash Reported On Route 9 Jersey Shore: Police
A man walking along Route 9 in Howell was killed after being struck by a vehicle overnight. The crash occurred at 1:55 a.m. Thursday, June 2 between Alexander Avenue and Ford Road, Howell police said. A 30-year-old Lakewood resident was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A 46-year-old driver from Monmouth County was killed in a crash on the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. The single-car crash was reported at 9:46 p.m. on Thursday, May 26 at milepost 108 in Tinton Falls, said Sgt. Alejandro Goez, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police.
