Ohio Man Gets 20 Years In Double-Fatal Shooting In South Jersey: Prosecutor
A 28-year-old man from Ohio was sentenced to 20 yers in New Jersey State Prison in connection with a double-fatal shooting, authorities said. Michael R. Loftin, Jr., of Cincinnati, was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder. He must serve 17 years before he is eligible for parole, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb McRae. He was acquitted on two counts of first-degree murder and weapons offenses, she said. A 54-year-old former security contractor at Millville Senior High School has been charged with sexual assault involving a 16-year-old student, authorities said. J.T. Banks of Millville was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 20, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae. He was additionally charged with child endangerment, she said. Police Shoot Knife-Wielding Man In Vineland: Prosecutor
Police in Vineland shot a 28-year-old man who lunged at them with a knife after he wounded another civilian Friday, May 5, authorities said. Police responded to the 500 block of East Birch Street around 11:20 a.m., where they encountered the armed man, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said. The man was shot by an officer twice after charging at them with a knife, Webb-McRae said.
