A 30-year-old driver who's got the middle finger tattooed on his forehead assaulted 15 people including police officers and tried breaking into six homes during a rampage through a New Jersey town this week, authorities said. A registered sex offender was arrested after trying to lure a 12-year-old girl with whistles and hand gestures, authorities said. The girl was sitting outside her home on North Sovereign Avenue when a man rode by on a bicycle, according to Atlantic City police. The man stopped and went into the backyard where he attempted to hide. He then used hand signals and whistles to try and get the girl's attention, police said. A burglar alarm helped foil a break-in in Atlantic City, authorities said. On Tuesday, Jan. 10, officers responding to a residential burglar alarm located a male and a female inside the residence and recovered a stolen handgun, police said. A horn described as a historical artifact was stolen from a New Jersey locomotive during a public display, and a $2,000 reward is being offered for clues on the culprit. Morristown & Erie Railway’s horn was stolen while locomotive No. 19 was on public display in Whippany over the Fourth of July weekend, according to a Facebook post from the Tri-State Railway Historical Society.
