A hardcore ex-con was charged with having nearly a half-pound of cocaine and $12,000 in suspect cash in a stolen car that he left idling in a fire lane outside a shopping mall in Hackensack. Jarrett Bruce, 39, was initially released at the Shops at Riverside just off westbound Route 4 after Lt. Police: Armed Carjacker Who Rammed Patrol Car Captured In Fort Lee
An armed suspect wanted for a carjacking in New York City was captured by Fort Lee police after he rammed a police cruiser and fled on foot, authorities said. Police had gone to a condo complex on Hilltop Court where the carjacked vehicle reportedly was located shortly after 3 a.m. on May 30, Capt. Edward Young said. Seeing them coming, Anthony Almonte, 20, hit the gas and struck a police patrol vehicle, Young said. An ex-con from Bergen County admitted brutally killing two of his girlfriend’s dogs at her home in upstate New York, authorities announced. Matthew Savinovich, 28, of Norwood “systematically and brutally killed” his now-former flame's Chihuahuas by “slamming them against a wall” in her Lake Peekskill, NY home, Putnam County District Attorney Robert V.
