Nearby Workers, Bystanders Rush To Help Fiery Crash Victims In South Jersey
Bystanders and employees at nearby businesses were praised for helping the two victims of a fiery crash in Atlantic County, authorities said. Egg Harbor Township police responded to the crash near 2511 Fire Road at around 9:37 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, the department said in a news release. The crash was in front of the Bellevue Commons business complex. A car fire on a New Jersey roadway has been linked to the shooting of two Philadelphia police officers that left one dead on Thursday evening, Oct. 12, authorities said. Police in South Brunswick said only that the vehicle fire extinguished on Route 32 around 1 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, was connected to the shooting. Hundreds of thousands of Subaru SUVs are the latest vehicles subject to a nationwide recall due to the potential they could unexpectedly catch fire. The auto giant announced a recall of 271,694 Subaru Ascent SUVs with produced in the 2019 through 2022 model years due to a faulty electrical grounding bolt that may have been improperly fastened, according to the company. A mother from Atlantic County says a Good Samaritan rescued her son, Zahir Davis, and his teenage friend from a burning car. In a post on Facebook, Aseealah Davis said a woman named Jackie stopped by the flaming car in Mays Landing on the way home from work. The incident happened on Tuesday night, May 17. The unidentified Good Samaritan is believed to be from Buena. "We would like to do something for Jackie,'' Davis wrote, asking for help identifying the hero.

School Bus Crashes, Car Catches Fire In Cumberland County: State Police
A car burst into flames after crashing into a school bus in South Jersey, authorities said. Four students and the driver of the bus were not hurt, according to New Jersey State Police. The crash occurred at 7:17 a.m.on Main Street in Lawrence Township, said Sgt. Philip Curry,, a NJSP spokesman. The driver of the car was taken to an area hospital for precautionary reasons, Curry said.
