Missing NJ Boater Reunited With Family After Week Adrift A boater out of Jersey City was reunited with his family last week after he went missing sailing to Bermuda, the Coast Guard said. No one had heard from the mariner since Monday, Nov. 6, and the Coast Guard Atlantic Area command center began a search and rescue effort, the Coast Guard said.  Another ship, the Time Bandit, heard an alert, and on Wednesday, Nov. 15, found a vessel that matched the description of the missing boat, the Coast Guard said. A Coast Guard boat based in Cape May arrived on the scene and was able to rescue the missing mariner and he was in stable condition. …

Dominic Vricella was fishing east of the Manasquan Inlet where he landed the new state record King Mackerel on July 30. The fish weighed 67 pounds, 7.2 ounces, smashing the previous record of 54 pounds, 0 ounces off Cape May in 1998, state officials said. England power plant is imploded later this month. The plant and its iconic smokestack have been a longtime landmark along the Jersey Shore. The site's structures have been imploded in phases since last year along the Great Eff Harbor Bay. Fugitive Arrested In Atlantic City Stabbing: Police A tip led to the arrest of a 32-year-old fugitive in an Atlantic City stabbing, authorities said. Anthony Mincey of Atlantic City was wanted in connection with an Aug. 16 stabbing in which a 29-year-old man from Cape May was seriously injured, police said. Mincey was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses. She was involved in a disagreement with another patron of the arcade.  As a result, she threw a skee ball striking a child in the back of the head, police said. Tornado Watch In Effect For South Jersey A tornado watch is in effect for 10 counties in New Jersey until 11 p.m. Monday Aug. 7, according to the National Weather Service. The tornado watch includes Mercer, Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties, the NWS said. Also, the tornado warning was extended to Hunterdon and Warren counties. There also is a watch for severe thunderstorms from Cumberland County north to Trenton. A slighter chance of thunderstorms exists along the Jersey Shore.
