The National Weather Service has released snow totals from the latest winter storm. In New Jersey, the most amount of snow from the Friday, Jan. 19 storm appears to have fallen in Hopewell Township (Cumberland County) and Mount Royal (Gloucester County), where 6.5 inches of snow were reported. Atlantic County: Dorothy, a section of Weymouth, got 6.4 inches, the most amount of snow across Atlantic County. Wildwood Man Accused Of Abusing Child: Prosecutor
A Wildwood man is accused of physically abusing a child, authorities said. Middle Township police received a report about the abuse accusation on Sunday, Jan. 14, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland announced. After a joint investigation by the special victims unit for the prosecutor's office and township police, 33-year-old Calvin Crawley Sr. was arrested on Monday, Jan. 15. Wildwood Man Sexually Assaults Girl: Prosecutor
A Wildwood man is accused of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13, authorities said. Wildwood police and the special victims unit for the county prosecutor's office opened an investigation on Friday, Jan. 12 into a child sexual assault claim against 27-year-old Jose Lopez-Ortiz, Cape May County prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland announced. Lopez-Ortiz was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 13, and is being held at Cape May County Correctional Center. More than 14,000 customers across the Jersey Shore are without power on Monday, Jan. 10, after strong winds and rain raced across New Jersey overnight. Most of those who lost electricity are in Monmouth County, according to utility companies. Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) said 10,489 customers were without power as of 11 a.m. Those included 2,169 customers in Marlboro, 1,238 in Millstone, and 1,088 in Colts Neck. Cape May County Man Busted With Child Pornography: Prosecutor
A Cape May County man is facing charges after he's accused of having pictures and videos of child pornography, according to authorities. Patrick Grace, 35, of Middle Township, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 5, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland announced. Grace is charged with second- and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Man Accused Of Grisly New Year's Day Murder In Atlantic City
A Cape May County man has been charged with stabbing another man to death in Atlantic City on New Year's Day. Atlantic County prosecutors said 30-year-old Vincent Oglesby of Woodbine was arrested in Pleasantville at around 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3. Oglesby is accused of killing 50-year-old Richard Vincent O'Brien III by stabbing him in the neck. Atlantic City police found O'Brien bleeding on the unit block of South California Avenue just after 6 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 1. COVID-19 cases are rising across New Jersey and along the Jersey Shore after the holidays. According to state health department data, 7,830 people tested positive for the virus in New Jersey during the week ending on Saturday, Dec. 30. That's more than seven times as many reported about a month ago, when there were 969 cases in the week ending on Saturday, Dec. 2. Yet another December rain storm has come and gone, leaving many New Jersey towns under water. According to the National Weather Service's Philadelphia/Mount Holly office, between one and three inches of rain fell across the area, ending early Thursday, Dec. 28. The town that got the most amount of rain is Washington Township (Warren County), with 3.38 inches, the weather service said. Madison Resorts will open the largest resort in Cape May County next year, officials announced. Madison Resorts has purchased the Royal Hawaiian in Wildwood Crest for $13.4 million and will invest another $7 million for renovations. Three residents of Cape May County have been charged with numerous drug and weapons offenses, authorities said.
