Tolls Increase On These 4 Bridges Between NJ, PA For First Time Since 2011 Tolls are going up on four Delaware River Port Authority bridges between New Jersey and Pennsylvania on Sunday, Sept. 1 for the first time since 2011. The increase on the Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross, Commodore Barry, and Walt Whitman bridges went into effect at midnight.  For passenger vehicles, motorcycles, and small trucks, tolls increased from $5 to $6. For recreational vehicles and mobile homes, tolls go up from $.7.50 to $9 per axle. Flaming Jackknife Tractor-Trailer On I-95 Near Betsy Ross Bridge (Video) A tractor-trailer fire shuttered part of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia for hours, Pennsylvania State Police explained on Friday morning.  The tractor-trailer was already ablaze when it jackknifed on I-95 South at mile marker 25.6 in Philadelphia County near the Betsy Ross Bridge into New Jersey around 7:30 a.m. on June 28, state police detailed in the release.  The fire has been extinguished and Troop K Philadelphia Station was on the scene as of 9 a.m. The driver was able to escape.  Click the player below to see a Citizen video of the firefighters on the scene. Tolls Going Up On Atlantic City Expressway Tolls on the Atlantic City Expressway are going up next year, officials said on Thursday, Nov. 17. Starting Jan. 1, 2023, cash tolls on the 44-mile Expressway’s Egg Harbor and Route 50 toll plazas will increase from $4.40 to $4.55 for a passenger vehicle. Expressway tolls are going up by 3% from year to year, said Kimberly Testa, a spokeswoman with the South Jersey Transportation Authority. Tolls for the average Expressway trip will go from $2.44 to $2.53, Testa said. SJTA officials cited inflation and increased expenses as reasons for the toll increase. The new toll rates are lower…
