A Somers Point family was rallying for support after a fire significantly damaged the home of a woman and her three sons, according to a fundraising campaign. The family of four was displaced after their Chapman Boulevard home caught fire at around noon on Sunday, Apr. 14, Somers Point firefighters said. No injuries were reported and a cat was rescued from the home. Family Of Four Displaced After House Damaged By Fire In South Jersey
A home in Atlantic County was significantly damaged by a fire, displacing a family of four, officials said. Somers Point firefighters responded to a report of a deck fire on Chapman Boulevard at around noon on Sunday, Apr. 14, the department said in a Facebook post. While crews were on their way, it was upgraded to a structure fire. A photo posted by the fire department showed extensive fire damage to the deck and half of the home. No injuries were reported. High School Sweetheart Survives DPW Worker Killed In Weekend NJ Crash
A 37-year-old dad and longtime Egg Harbor Township Department of Public Works employee died in a weekend crash. Jose Costa was heading east on Ocean Heights Avenue when he lost control, veered off the road and struck a pole around 12:40 a.m. in Egg Harbor Township Saturday, April 2, local police said. The Scullville and Bargaintown Fire Companies responded and extricated Costa, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
