On Tuesday, May 2, at 4:47 p.m., Officer Salvatore Rando Jr. was flagged down by a boardwalk ambassador in reference to a male that appeared to be in distress. The male was seen going into the ocean at Hartford Avenue, Atlantic City police said. Rando responded to the beach and found Darren Brathwaite in the surf in waist high water. At 4:12 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, Atlantic City police were dispatched to Trenton Terrace for a report of a group in a fight. Officers arrived to find Joseph Dixon, 33, of Atlantic City, and Deontay Mickey-Evans, 21 of Willingboro,  bleeding from stab wounds.
