The house fire and explosion that killed four people in Atlantic County was ignited by chemicals that are used to make commercial-grade fireworks, authorities said. The Aug. 3. fire and the explosion that followed likely originated in the rear, left corner of the first floor of a two-story outbuilding on the 300 block of Northwest Boulevard in Buena, according to Franklin Township police. Wildwood Motel Guest Threatens To Make Bomb: Police
Bomb-making materials were discovered when police in Wildwood searched a motel room, authorities said. On Friday, Oct. 28, at 8:37 a.m., the Wildwood Police Department received a report of an unwanted guest at the Mango Motel located at 209 East Spencer Ave. Police spoke with the manager who stated that Joshua Bailey, 37, of Brunswick, ME was dropped off at the motel and rented room 5 for the week.
