Man Gets 16 Years For Fatal New Year's Day Jersey City Stabbing: Prosecutor A 49-year-old Jersey City man was sentenced to 16 years in state prison on Thursday, Sept. 19 for fatally stabbing a man on New Year's Day 2021. At 2:45 a.m., Jersey City police located Tyrone Haskins, a 39-year-old Jersey City resident at 333 Ocean Ave. with a stab wound to his torso, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 3:20 a.m. Darius Evans was sentenced after pleading guilty to aggravated manslaughter in May, Suarez said.

Two Jersey City Gang Members Sentenced For Role In Multiple Shootings: Feds Two Jersey City gang members were sentenced to lengthy prison terms on Wednesday, Aug. 21, for their role in two different shootings and other crimes, authorities said. Jakeem Gibson-Madison, a.k.a. “Beanz,” 30; and Terick Rogers, a.k.a. “Moot,” 32, are members of a Jersey City gang associated with the Marion Gardens Housing Complex, US Attorney Phillip Sellinger said.  Gibson-Madison was sentenced to 15 years in prison while Rogers was sentenced to 16 years in prison, Sellinger said.  While in the gang, Gibson-Madison and Rogers routinely distributed cocaine and heroin, among oth…
