Masked Suspects Flee From Haledon Police, Triggering School Shelter-In-Place
A routine traffic stop turned into a police pursuit Friday afternoon, March 14, leading to a temporary shelter-in-place at Haledon Public School, authorities said. At 1:50 p.m., Officer Kris Duci spotted two males wearing ski masks on a motorized scooter near West Broadway and Cliff Street, police said in a news release. The scooter had no license plates, and neither suspect was wearing a helmet, the department said. Westfield High School was forced into lockdown twice on Wednesday, Feb. 12, following threats on social media, authorities said. At 8:08 AM, officers responded to Westfield High School following reports of a potential threat through a conversation on a social media platform, Westfield Police Captain John Ricerca said. The mugshot of a 34-year-old murder suspect arrested in a New Jersey shooting that rattled a small town has been released. Anthony Garvin, of Netcong, was charged with murder and possession of a firearm and lodged in the Berks County Jail in Leesport, PA, a spokesperson for the Warren County Prosecutor's Office said following the Thursday, June 28 incident.
