Man Killed In Fiery Overnight Newark Crash
A man was killed in a fiery crash early Sunday, Oct. 27 in Newark, police said. The male driver was found inside a vehicle that caught fire after crashing into a tree and colliding through a nearby residential gate at Weequahic Avenue near Bergen Street around 3:30 a.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The bodies of two severely burned girls ages 6 and 8 were found at a Newark home following a fire over the weekend, officials said. Witnesses told detectives that there had been a birthday party for one of the girls on the second floor of the home and they'd been playing with fire near a couch in the hallway of the Eckert Street home on Saturday, Oct. 20, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.
