The fire was in a building at The Willows at Toms River apartment complex on Wednesday, Sept. 18, the township's fire prevention bureau said in a news release. Firefighters responded to 1000 Axl Drive at around 2:23 p.m. The first crews found a small grease fire started on a stove in one unit. Rescuers were called to a swimmer in distress near the pier at the Main Avenue beach at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, the ANSWER team said in a Facebook post. The report was quickly upgraded to three swimmers in distress. When emergency crews arrived, they saw the three swimmers screaming for help. First Responders Rescue Watercraft From Delaware River: Njsp First responders rescued a watercraft from the Delaware River in Burlington County on Sunday evening, June 30, authorities said. At about 5 p.m., New Jersey State Police troopers responded to a report of a personal watercraft stuck on a sandbar near Hawk Island in Delanco Township, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a NJSP spokesman. The craft was dislodged from the sandbar and escorted to a marina, Lebron said. No injuries were reported.  The incident remains under investigation, and no additional information is available, he said.

Patrick Dispoto, 59, was found unconscious on the beach near J Street at around 7:38 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, a Seaside Park Police Department spokesperson told Daily Voice. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police said Dispoto had no visible signs of injuries. Manchester police responded to the head-on crash on Route 70 near milepost 34.5 at around 11:24 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, the department said in a news release.
