An exit on the Garden State Parkway in Atlantic County was closed due to a crash near the interchange, authorities said. Egg Harbor Township police responded to the crash at the traffic lights for the intersection of Fire Road and the parkway exit ramps on Tuesday, July 16, the department said in a Facebook post. The state Department of Transportation reported the crash near the northbound exit ramp at 11:56 a.m. EXIT 36 from/to the GSP is closed at this time due to a motor vehicle crash with injuries at the traffic signal on Fire Road. One Man Airlifted, Another Injured After Deck Collapsed At Jersey Shore Home: Police
Two men were injured when the second-story deck of a home collapsed in Ocean County, authorities said. Long Beach police responded to the home on Arnold Boulevard at around 1:48 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, the department said in a Facebook post on Monday, July 15. Officers found an unresponsive man had been injured while falling from the collapsed deck. The man was airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City Campus. Firefighter Injured In Rutgers Barn Blaze
A firefighter was injured battling a fire in a storage barn at Rutgers University in North Brunswick, authorities said. The fire broke out at about 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 11 at the Horticultural Farm property at Rutgers Gardens, according to a university spokeswoman. The building was unoccupied at the time, she said. The fire was contained to the barn with assistance from local fire departments. Car Rolls Over Man Trying To Prevent GF From Leaving In South Brunswick, Cops Say
A 46-year-old man from South Brunswick was hospitalized after a car rolled over him as he sat in front of it in an attempt to prevent his girlfriend from leaving, police said. The man and his 37-year-old girlfriend were arguing outside of a Harvey Road home around 7:30 a.m. Monday, July 8, when the man sat in front of the vehicle, according to police. The woman got out of the car to tell him to move but had left the car in drive, police said. That's when the car rolled over the man, leaving him seriously injured. He ws rushed to RWJUH.
