Central Jersey Man Dies While Walking Across Road With Dog, Police Say
A Mercer County man was killed while walking his dog and crossing a road in Hamilton Township, authorities said. Mohamed Ahmed, 63, of Hamilton, died in the crash on Wednesday, Aug. 21, the township's police division said in a news release. The crash happened on Hamilton Avenue near the intersection with Donald Drive at around 4:10 p.m. Investigators said Ahmed was walking with his dog on the west side of Hamilton Avenue when they tried to cross the road "from a mid-block location." Police in Manchester are seeking the public's help in locating a 24-year-old woman last heard from more than two weeks ago. Erin Garofalo last spoke to her family on the phone on Thursday, July 25, police in Manchester said. She was last known to be in the area of Barnt Avenue in Trenton and has been known to frequent the Hamilton, Princeton, and East Windsor areas. A 23-year-old driver was hospitalized after she crashed into an unoccupied roadway service vehicle along Route 29 in Mercer County, authorities said. Majanae Burke, of Bordentown, was driving northbound in a Honda Civic near milepost 0.7 in Hamilton at about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 28 when she veered off the highway and struck a guardrail before rear-ending the Ford F350 pickup, New Jersey State Police said.
