17 People Displaced, Dog Rescued In Fire At Jersey Shore Apartments: Firefighters Seventeen people were without homes and a dog was saved after a fast-moving fire engulfed a three-story apartment building in Asbury Park, officials said. Crews responded to the Vita Gardens Apartments at the corner of Atlantic and Monmouth avenues at around 9:04 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, the Asbury Park firefighters union said in a Facebook post.
