Man Attacked By Beaver: Raritan Township PD A man was attacked by a beaver while fishing in Raritan Township on Thursday, Nov. 7, authorities said. A 54-year-old Flemington man said he was fishing in the South Branch Raritan River when he noticed a beaver swimming nearby, Raritan Township police said. The man lost sight of the beaver only for the beaver to resurface and attack the victim, biting him on both legs, police said. While trying to defend himself, the victim was also bitten on the hand, police said The victim was able to get himself out of the water, police said.  First responders transported the victim to Hunter…

At 5:15 p.m., the Holland Township Police Department responded to a report of a body found in the Musconetcong River, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office said.. A fisherman reported finding the body in a shallow section of the river while fishing in the area, authorities said. Police ID Missing Fisherman Found Dead In NJ Lake Police have identified the fisherman who went missing and was later found dead in a New Jersey lake. Valeri Malov, of Pine Brook, had gone fishing in the body of water behind an industrial complex on Chapin Road Saturday morning, Aug. 24, Montville Police Chief Andrew Caggiano said. Responding officers found his fishing equipment on the shoreline and began a search of the area.  Malov's body was found the following day around 8:50 p.m. in the water, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Caggiano said.
