A 20-year-old Newark man was arrested on Monday, April 7, for multiple smash and grab burglaries that occurred in Montclair earlier this year, authorities said.
On Friday, Feb. 28, officers responded to The Chicken and Shawarma at 180 Bloomfield Ave. after a man, later identified as Jalen Dorch, wearing all black clothing was seen on surveillance video shattering the front door of the business before making entry, removing the cash register, taking $210, Montclair police said.

Trio Of Teen Car Burglars Busted In Bayonne After Taking Handgun: Police
Three teenage burglaries were recently arrested and charged in Bayonne with breaking into multiple vehicles, authorities said.
On Saturday, March 15, at 3 30 a.m., officers responded to a vehicle break-in at 2nd Street and Avenue C, and learned several other vehicles had been entered by the same suspects, Bayonne police said. Two fully loaded handguns were taken from one of the vehicles, police said.
The suspect vehicle was soon spotted, but they fled at a high rate of speed and the pursuit was terminated, police said. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Jersey City, police said.

Duo Stole $256K From Acquaintance: Union County Prosecutor
Two people were arrested and charged in Union City on Tuesday, March 4, with stealing $256,000, authorities said.
Crystal Williams, 42 and Damien Hall, 37, from Elizabeth and Newark, face a 30-count indictment including theft, conspiracy to commit theft, criminal impersonation and forgery, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said.
Between 2022 and 2024, Williams and Hall engaged in a series of deceptive practices against an acquaintance to obtain over $250,000, Daniel said.

A New Jersey Department of Corrections lieutenant in charge of managing state ammunition stockpiles was charged with stealing and selling taxpayer-funded ammo for personal profit, authorities said.
Timothy Morris, 56, of Bayville (Ocean County), who served as NJDOC’s Range Master, is accused of illegally ordering excess ammunition and selling it on the secondary market, Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin announced.
Morris allegedly pocketed more than $475,000 through this scheme while attempting to conceal his financial transactions, prosecutors said.

A 38-year-old New Jersey firefighter was arrested and charged on Monday, March 10, with stealing $10,000 from a labor union representing first responders, authorities said.
Tull,a Williamstown resident and a firefighter in Cinnaminson, was treasurer of a union that represented firefighters and EMTs throughout Burlington County, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw said.
