A New York City man was arrested after a garage break-in and foot chase through Teaneck and Bergenfield, authorities said.
Deputy Chief Seth B. Kriegel announced the arrest of 23-year-old Luis Fernando Guasco-Loja, of the Bronx, in connection with a burglary investigation.
Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call at approximately 8:54 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, from a Churchill Road resident reporting a suspicious person in their rear yard, Kriegel said.

Three people were injured in a multi-car crash in Newark on Sunday, April 5, authorities said.
At 5:13 p.m., officers responded to McCarter Highway near Exit 4 after a driver stopped suddenly on the northbound side of the highway, causing the driver behind that vehicle to stop short, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said.
The second vehicle was then struck from behind, Miranda said. This resulted in four more vehicles being struck from behind, for a total of five crashes. The first vehicle, which was not struck, fled the scene, Miranda said.

NJ Man, 54, Killed In NY Snowmobile Crash: State Police
A 54-year-old New Jersey man was killed in a late-night snowmobile crash in New York Friday night, Feb. 20, according to State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 11:10 p.m., on a trail about one-half mile behind 253 County Road 111 in Caroga Lake, State Police said.
Stephen J. Banks, 54, of Cream Ridge (Freehold), NJ, was operating a snowmobile when it failed to negotiate a curve in the trail and struck a tree, according to the preliminary investigation.

A woman was killed when a fast-moving fire tore through a Pocono Lake home, collapsing the structure as crews worked to reach her, police said on Friday, Nov. 28.
Officers with the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department were dispatched to a residential blaze at 2017 Locust Ridge Road at 5:39 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27, according to the release. A tractor-trailer hauling M&M candy crashed on Route 80 in Warren County, spilling its cargo across the roadway, authorities said.
At 10:17 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, Knowlton Township Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched to a two-tractor-trailer collision in the westbound lanes near the 2-mile marker, the department said.

A pit bull was fatally shot after biting a police officer in Elizabeth on Monday, Aug. 18, authorities said.
At 11:40 a.m., emergency services units were at the 1000 block of Olive Street in search of a robbery suspect, a spokesperson for the City of Elizabeth said. An officer went to the backyard of a residence in case the suspect appeared, authorities said.
