A 34-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and charged on Wednesday, Jan. 29 with trying to entice a minor for criminal sexual conduct, authorities said. A Sayreville homeowner's quick thinking and police response led to the arrests of four Jersey City residents trying to break into their home earlier this week, police said. The incident occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Rhode Street, on Tuesday, Jan. 28, when the resident reported multiple individuals attempting to enter his home through a back window, Sayreville police said. A burglar is at large after they crawled through a broken window at Taco Bell and stole money on the early morning of Sunday, Jan. 19, authorities said. At 5:11 a.m., a man approached the drive-thru at Taco Bell at 52 Jones St., and used a rock to break the window, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. said. Newark Man Stole Cooking Oil From Diner: Bayonne Police
A 45-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged after he took cooking oil from a Bayonne diner on Saturday, Jan. 4, authorities said. At 10:21 a.m., officers responded to the Broadway Diner to 1075 Broadway on a report of a man, later identified as Josh Liggins, striking an employee after he was confronted over stealing cooking oil, Bayonne police said. An investigation led to Liggins' apprehension in Newark, police said. Liggins was charged with robbery and transported to the Hudson County Corrections and Rehabilitation Center, police said. .

A 27-year-old former school janitor in South Jersey recently pleaded guilty on Monday, Jan. 13, to putting bleach and bodily fluids into school items meant for students and staff, authorities said. As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, Giovanni Impellizzeri, a Vineland resident, is expected to be sentenced to five years in prison. Multiple shoplifters are at large after stealing items from a Lululemon in Hoboken on eight different incidents this year, authorities said. The shopliftings occurred between Friday, Aug. 30 and Tuesday, Nov. 26, Hoboken police said.
