Maria Montalvo, 61, of Union Beach, was convicted in 1997 of two counts of murder, two counts of felony murder, and arson for a 1996 car fire that killed her two young children. Montalvo had been serving a 100-year sentence before Murphy’s clemency action made her immediately eligible for parole.
