A 34-year-old man from North Bergen has been charged after police say he struck a 77-year-old woman with his car in Leonia and fled the scene, leaving her critically injured on the side of the road. The incident happened around 4:35 a.m. Thursday, July 10, on Grand Avenue near Ames Avenue, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Tuesday, July 15. Woman Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Newark: Prosecutor
A 62-year-old Newark woman was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing the street late Friday, July 11, authorities said. At 11:46 p.m., Jessica Perez was struck by a black Toyota Camry at 978 Frelinghuysen Ave, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. Perez was wearing dark clothing while crossing the street, authoritires said. The driver remained on the scene, authorities said. The crash remains under the investigation, authorities said.
