Charges will not be filed against a police officer who last November struck and killed a 44-year-old man while on-duty in a patrol car, authorities said. Sgt. Richard Sbarra was on White Horse Pike (Route 30) in the Atco section of Waterford when he hit Christofe “Christopher” Wita, 44, of Berlin on Nov. 23, 2023, NJ Attorney General Matthew Platkin previously said. A 67-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed in Gloucester County, authorities said. On Monday, Aug. 12 at approximately 12:05 a.m., Harrison Township Police Department was dispatched to area of Mullica Hill Road and the Route 55 overpass in reference to a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle. Police are looking for an Atlantic City man after they found drugs and a stolen gun, authorities said. Joel Snyder, 45, is wanted on 14 weapons and drug charges, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release. Wilbert Deberry Jr., 53, was arrested after a home and vehicle were raided on Wednesday, Aug. 7. Police executed a search warrant on the home and vehicle on the 1500 block of Beach Avenue after a two-month drug-dealing investigation. A Philadelphia motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash late Saturday, Aug. 10 in Burlington County, NJ, police said. Gladerby Bredy was found lying along the south shoulder of Arney’s Mount Road in Pemberton after being struck by a vehicle just after 10:40 p.m., Chief Jon Glass said.
