14-Year-Old Charged In Fatal Jersey City Shooting: Prosecutor A 14-year-old Jersey City boy was arrested and charged as a juvenile with murder on Monday, Oct. 21, in connection with a shooting that killed a 19-year-old on Friday, Oct. 11. At 5 p.m., Jersey City police responded to shots fired in Garfield Avenue and found Kashyne Grant suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment, where he was pronounced dead just after 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 14. The 14-year-old was charged with murder and multiple weapons offenses, Suarez said.
