Five soldiers were shot and a suspect has been apprehended after an incident at Fort Stewart, the largest Army installation east of the Mississippi River, late Wednesday morning, Aug. 6. The incident began just before 11 a.m., leading to the lockdown of the installation in Georgia. Westfield High School was forced into lockdown twice on Wednesday, Feb. 12, following threats on social media, authorities said. At 8:08 AM, officers responded to Westfield High School following reports of a potential threat through a conversation on a social media platform, Westfield Police Captain John Ricerca said. False Report Of Shooting Leads To Westfield High School Lockdown: Police
Westfield High School was placed on lockdown after a "maliciously false" report of a shooting on the morning of Monday, Sept. 23, authorities said. At 9:53 a.m., the high school reported it received a single phone call from an unidentified person reporting two people were shot inside the school, Westfield police said in a release. Westfield High School contacted officers and said it had placed itself into a lockdown pending law enforcement response, police said.
