Man Assaulted Four People With Weapon: Newark PD A 40-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged with assaulting four men on the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 20, authorities said. At 7:47 a.m., police responded to Central Avenue and South 10th Street on a report of a man, Khalif Judd, assaulting four men using an object held inside a black bag, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Judd was arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Fragé said. The incident remain under investigation, Fragé said.

At 10:01 a.m., police observed two men exiting a stolen vehicle at S. 10th Street and South Orange Avenue,  Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The two men proceeded to fire weapons, striking a woman, Fragé said. The woman was transported to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition, Fragé said. At 7 a.m., police responded to West Market Street and Central Avenue for a report of a stabbing, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Police located a man who had been stabbed by another man following an alteration, Fragé said.
