18 Displaced By East Orange Fire, Officials Say A fire ripped through a three-family home in East Orange on the early morning of Saturday, June 29, displacing 18 people, authorities said. At 5:23 a.m., firefighters in East Orange responded to the blaze at 135 Greenwood Avenue and were able to bring the fire under control 30 minutes later, a spokeswoman for the city said. Three families, comprised of 18 people, were able to escape the fire with no injuries, authorities said. Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Blaze In Middlesex County Two homes were heavily damaged by a three-alarm fire that started in a garage in Middlesex Borough, authorities said. On Friday, June 14, at 2:40 a.m., the Middlesex Borough Police Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 832 West Second Street.  Officers arrived on scene and confirmed that a garage was fully engulfed in flames.
