On Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 9:50 a.m., officers received a frantic call about a dog, Taffy, stuck in the lake at Veteran's Park, Hazlet Township police said. The lake  had a thin sheet of ice and the dog was struggling to make it back to shore, police said. 68 Cats Euthanized, Brick Man Pleads Guilty To Animal Cruelty: Prosecutor A Brick man who kept more than 150 cats in his residence pleaded guilty to animal cruelty on Monday, Feb. 24, authorities said. Jeffrey Finlay is expected to be sentenced to six months in jail per the terms of his plea agreement, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. Rescuers Save Dog Caught In Tide In Jersey Shore Inlet, Firefighters Say A dog was rescued from an inlet in Cape May County, officials said. The Stone Harbor and North Wildwood fire departments responded to the Hereford Inlet for a water rescue at around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, the Stone Harbor firefighters union said in a Facebook post. Firefighters received a report that a dog named Bruno was swimming far from shore and in distress. A boat crew went to the inlet and quickly found Bruno struggling to swim in the tide.
