Officials ID Man, 39, Killed By Train In Monmouth County
Officials have identified the man struck and killed by an NJ Transit train on Saturday, Sept. 13 in Monmouth County. Anthony DePalma, 39, of Atlantic Highlands, was struck at the Monmouth Street crossing in Red Bank and involved North Jersey Coast Line train 7240, according to an NJ Transit spokesperson. The train left New York Penn Station at 12:07 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Long Branch at 1:38 p.m. The crash happened just after 1:30 p.m., Chartier said. Man Killed In Shooting At Jersey Shore Train Station, Prosecutors Say
A man was shot and killed at the New Jersey Transit station in Long Branch, authorities said. Long Branch police responded to the train station's platform at around 7:39 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, a Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesperson said. Officers found the unidentified man and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead at 8:34 p.m. Investigators haven't said what led up to the shooting. A person struck by a train briefly delayed NJ Transit service Friday, Aug. 9, officials said. The male was struck by Northeast Corridor train 3875, which left New York Penn Station at 6:47 p.m. around 8:30 p.m. just west of Jersey Ave Station in New Brunswick, NJ Transit officials said. A 7,000-gallon tanker truck struck a railroad bridge in Woodbridge on Wednesday afternoon, July 10, authorities said. Woodbridge police could not immediately confirm the tanker's contents but said there were no major leaks and no injuries. The crash occurred at about 2 p.m. at Green Street and Rahway Avenue.
