Massive Water Main Break In Edison Leaves Residents Without Water
A 20-inch water main break disrupted water service for Edison residents early Thursday morning, Dec. 26, leaving many with little to no water pressure, officials said. The break occurred around midnight near the intersection of M Lane and Woodbridge Avenue. Areas impacted include Woodbridge Avenue, Route 27, and stretches up to Talmadge, according to Edison Mayor Sam Joshi. “Residents will experience a low to no water pressure at the present moment,” the mayor explained. Ex-Cop Gets 15 Years For Double-Fatal Off Duty DWI Wreck: Somerset County Prosecutor
A 30-year-old former police officer and Somerset resident was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Wednesday, Aug. 14 in connection with a fatal crash he caused that killed two people while he was off-duty last summer, authorities said. Amitoj Oberoi was employed as an Edison police officer at the time of the crash on Route 27 in Franklin Township that killed Carlos Perez-Gayan, a 24-year-old Somerset resident, and Victor Cabrera-Francisco, a 20-year-old North Brunswick resident, Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald said.
