An FBI investigation placed a North Jersey high school on lockdown last week following the arrest of a school maintenance worker, Daily Voice has learned. Lakeland High School custodian Scott Volpe, 39, a married father of two from Ringwood, was arrested on March 7 on child pornography charges, as previously reported by Daily Voice. Columbia High School principal Frank Sanchez will still face charges of simple assault, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office announced. Nearly two weeks ago, an Essex County Grand Jury declined to indict Frank Sanchez on charges of endangering the welfare of a child on Thursday, June 13, authorities announced. Ramapo-lndian Hills Regional High School has hired a new superintendent. In a unanimous vote on Tuesday, May 28, the RIH Board of Education voted 9-0 in favor of approving Dr. Ronnie Tarchichi's contract, which goes into effect July 1.
