Fourteen suspects have been arrested in 12 Newark committed from Saturday, June 1 through Monday, Sept. 30, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. On Tuesday, June 4, Ty'Shon Young, a 27-year-old Newark resident was killed in a double shooting on the 200 block of South Orange Avenue, authorities said. An investigation by detectives from the Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force led to the arrest of Timothy Young, 34, for the murder, authorities said.…

Person Critical After Newark Shooting: Prosecutor A person is critical condition after a shooting in Newark on the early morning of Saturday Aug. 10, authorities said. The person was shot in the head on the 800 block of Elizabeth Avenue at around 1:50 a.m., the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are in critical condition, authorities said. The shooting remains under investigation, authorities said.
