A multimillion-dollar waterfront home was destroyed by a fire on Long Beach Island, according to reports. Officers responded to the scene at around 4:18 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, the Long Beach Township Police Department said in a news release. The home was located on Holly Drive in the Loveladies neighborhood. Police said several fire departments responded in chilly 20-degree weather and got control of the fire. Three people were hospitalized, including a driver who police claimed smelled like alcohol, after a crash in Monmouth County, authorities said. Wall Township police responded to the crash at around 5:31 p.m. on Friday, July 5, the department said in a news release on Monday, July 8. Service to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains was disrupted for the second time this week on Thursday, June 20 due to both power issues and brush fires along the NJ Turnpike, officials said. Amtrak service between Philadelphia and New Haven had been suspended while NJ Transit service in and out of NY Penn Station was also suspended, due to power issues on the Amtrak line, NJ Transit said.
