Update: Man Killed By NJ Transit Train Near Jersey Shore Station A man died when he was struck by a New Jersey Transit train in Red Bank, officials said. The pedestrian was hit by a southbound North Jersey Coast Line train No. 3241 at the Monmouth Street crossing at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. The crossing is next to the Red Bank transit station. The train left New York Penn Station at 12:12 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Long Branch at 1:45 p.m. None of the 25 passengers or crew on the train were injured. A pedestrian was hit by a train near Red Bank. The condition of the person wasn't known as of press time.
