A cat was killed in a house fire in Franklin Township Saturday, June 13, authorities sad.
At 8:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of a garage fire in the 100 block of Willow Avenue, Franklin Township police said. While firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, the home was deemed uninhabitable, police said.
A Good Samaritan assisted in removing a dog, though they suffered a minor bite wound on their finger, police said. The dog was safely removed from the residence, although one cat was found deceased and another is unaccounted for, police said.

NJ Barn Fire Kills Five Horses, Four Cats: GoFundMe
A barn fire in Delaware Township killed five horses and four cats on Thursday, May 14, according to a GoFundMe fundraiser set up to support the family.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find one barn fully involved, the Delaware Township Fire Company. Crews were able to knock down the fire in under 20 minutes, while overhaul operations on the original barn continued for nearly two hours, firefighters said.
